Scuba Engineering

THE INFRASTRUCTURE WE BUILD UPON

Precision Beneath the Surface

Whether in the workshop or a full commercial operation, care before convenience is the standard our scuba engineering department runs on. When we service a single regulator, head down to recover lost equipment, free a rope caught on a propeller, or assist in a search - we go down with one mission: to take care of each other, of the equipment, and of the people who are counting on us to get it right.

The equipment we work with - Bauer, Tecline, Azoth Systems and Shearwater - was not chosen for performance alone, we use brands whose approach to safety we genuinely believe in. These relationships have been formed over years of using their equipment in demanding conditions and remote locations. When we stand behind a brand, it is because we trust them with our own lives - because in this work, that is exactly what we are doing.

What We Do

  • Equipment servicing and repair
  • Bauer compressor installations and maintenance
  • Support of oceanographic work
  • Underwater inspections and maintenance
  • Environmental and biodiversity surveys
  • Equipment supply and distribution

Supporting Sustainable Development

As Timor-Leste joins ASEAN, new investment opportunities are opening, and the young population is stepping into the workforce. Infrastructure is expanding - roads, ports, mines, agriculture. But this small island nation and its connection to the sea runs deep. Almost everything that changes on land will, in some way, affect the ecosystems beneath the waves, and the people who depend on them.

Through a team of technical divers and marine biologists, APE offers in-country capacity to support data collection for environmental and biodiversity assessments. This will help inform decisions and support more sustainable development practices as the country grows.

Our Approach

Scuba equipment is life support. There is no part of what we do at APE that does not depend entirely on gear working safely and efficiently, and on someone knowing what to do when it doesn’t. This is why we hold ourselves to the highest standard, every time.

APE Scuba Engineering exists not as a separate business, but as the foundation under everything we do.

The Ways We Can Support You

Three Pathways. One Philosophy.

Commercial:

Underwater inspections, equipment recovery, and support for maritime operators, contractors, and government bodies - across both the north and south coast of Timor-Leste.

Environmental:

Biodiversity surveys and environmental assessments conducted by a team of technical divers working alongside our marine biology team - supporting responsible coastal development.

Workshop:

Certified servicing for Bauer compressors and Tecline, Aqualung, and Scubapro equipment, alongside other brands. Cylinder inspections and hydrostatic testing in accordance with respective standards. General repair and maintenance held to the same standards of care we bring to everything else we do.

If your work depends on what happens beneath the surface - we're ready to help you keep it running.
